Spring Handbuilding Class

Build your own pottery in a spring hand building class! Spaces are limited to maximize students' experience.

Class details: 

Classes will be held at Laird Hall, in Laird, SK on the following days:

 

Week 1: Tuesday, May 13, 2025; 6-9 pm

  • The logistics of pottery and handbuilding
  • Directed hand building of specific forms, allowing you to become comfortable effectively creating with clay
  • Specific forms covered include: pinch pot, plate/platter, mug body, trinket dish, spoon rest
  • Three hour time frame

 

Week 2: Tuesday, May 20, 2025; 6-9pm

  • Guided time to use your own creativity to build pieces you choose
  • It is best to come to class with a list of items you'd like to create in order to maximize class time 
  • Three hour time frame

 

Week 3: Tuesday, June 3, 2025; 6-9 pm

  • Glaze day (including instruction on my favourite glaze techniques) 
  • Three hour time frame

 

Pottery will be available for pickup at a later date

Each student will receive 22 pounds of clay, access to necessary tools, glazes, surface decoration options, and instruction to produce pieces.

22 lbs of clay would make approximately 10 pieces in a range of sizes

Additional clay will be available for purchase for overachievers :)

* Please wear clothes that can get messy!
